Is it possible to change the settings so that when using the store locator, the browser doesn’t prompt for location permission immediately upon reaching the map page (page load), but only when the search field or its adjacent geolocation button(?) is used?

    Hi @delanet,

Thank you for getting in touch, we do appreciate your time.

If you are only allowing users to use their location as a starting point for a search, the behavior you have mentioned is default. Meaning, we will only request the users location when they click on the “use my location” button.

Alternatively, if you are also showing the users location on the map, this is done when the map loads, which means we request the user location early. The same is true for distance related features. Unfortunately, those cannot be changed at the moment.

So what option should I change to get rid off geolocation prompt on page load?

I already tried to disable “Show distance from search”, “Allow users to use their location as the starting point”, “Enable Directions”, “Jump to nearest marker on initialization?”, and “Show User’s Location?” but browsers still keeps prompting for geolocation permission as I load the page.

    Hi @delanet,

In order to say exactly which feature is triggering the prompt, please share a link to your site (map page) so that I can have a look.

It’s possible another feature is enabled, which relies on the user location, but testing would be required.

Since the site is not yet public, I unfortunately cannot publish the page address here. Can I send it to you via another method? We have purchased the Pro version.
