    Hi there!

My understanding is that this plugin has been translated into German and language selection is based on the GoToWebinar account language. Both WordPress and GTW account are set to German but the plugin is still in English as you can see based on the header fields: https://www.xiting.blog/webinare/

Additionally, once successfully registered, the link to the Webinar shows as “undefined”.

Can you please let us know how to fix or further investigate those issues?

    Thanks
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for your message. On the plugin settings page under the ‘Translation’ tab you can over-ride the registration form fields. You can also translate a few other things here.

In regards to your second issue with the ‘undefined’ this is a plugin error which was caused by a recent security update to the plugin. I have now updated this in the latest version of the plugin. Thanks for letting me know about this and if you enjoy the plugin I would appreciate it if you could give it 5 stars. Thank you,

    Hi there!

I saw where I can translate the registration fields but I’m talking about the headers and registration link on https://www.xiting.blog/webinare/. Those fields I have not found a way to translate.

    Thanks
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

I have provided translation for these table headers already for select languages including German (Deutsch), however I see that your website is using the WordPress language Deutsch Schweiz and there is currently no translation for this language created for the plugin.

On the plugin settings page under the FAQ tab there is information about how to create new translations for these table headers. Your language code is: de-CH. Using the Poedit program you can create a translation file and place this in the inc/lang folder of the plugin. Also if you send this file to me at info(at)northernbeacheswebsites.com.au I can include this file in the plugin directory so you can update the plugin and the custom translation won’t be over-written.

I also provide custom development work to do this all for you which would be at a pretty minimal charge if you are interested in this.

I can appreciate it might be confusing why some of the translation occurs on the plugin settings page and the other part of the translation occurs in these translation files. The reason is that the registration form is dynamically created for each webinar based on the information from GoToWebinar therefore I can’t make this translatable via a file. However because the table headers are static it’s best practice to use standard translation files for this.

    Thanks Michael,

Thanks! I didn’t notice someone else from my team changed the language to de-CH. Upon switching it back to de-DE, everything looks good.

One more issue we discovered, related to how the TIME is displayed. Our webinar times are set up in GTW as 14:00 – 15:00, for example, but on webinar list produced by the plugin it shows as 2pm – 3pm. Is there any way to change this as many people from Europe may not be comfortable with am/pm.

    Thanks
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

When I designed the plugin I thought it would be safer using AM or PM because sometimes when people see “9:00” they aren’t sure if it is 9am or 9pm (if they are used to seeing time in am/pm format). However I have just released version 7.2 of the plugin and this adds a new setting called Time Format which enables you to choose 12 hour or 24 hour time and this should do exactly what you’re after.

If you haven’t rated the plugin yet, please give it 5 stars: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wp-gotowebinar/reviews/?rate=5#new-post or you can make a donation via the plugin settings page as this helps me provide support and updates. Cheers!

    Thanks, that worked!

On another note, we noticed that “Register” is translated as “Neu registrieren”. The “Neu” is superfluous in our opinion and I would rename it to just “Registrieren”.

    Cheers

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for letting me know about this. Using the Poedit program as mentioned in the plugins FAQ you will be able to update the translation files provided for German. These translation files can be found in the ‘inc/lang’ folder of the plugin. However I have updated this translation now to what you mentioned so when the next version of the plugin is released it will be as instructed. I don’t however know when the next version will be released. Thanks,
