  • Hello netaction,

Please consider that the default plugin language is English, and to make sure users get the last translations versions, we make available for download any other desired language from this page https://translate.time.ly/projects/timely that needs to be then uploaded to the “language” folder.
For more information please read the following guide: https://time.ly/document/user-guide/customize-calendar/translations/
Please let me know if you manage to use the above steps and let me know if there’s anything else we can help with. Feel free to also use the help we provide on the support forum to questions other users have had in the past.

Thanks for being a Time.ly user!

Manually installed translations are not updated automatically while updating the calendar.

Missing translations would show the English string as fallback, so incomplete language files are no issue.

Automatically shipped translations would not hinder anyone to change the files manually.

Conclusion: You might have strong reasons for excluding the translations, but I don’t see the difference of this plugin to any other WordPress plugin.

    hey netaction,

Wanted to check in and see if you found our plugin solid and our translation approach reasonable.
I hope you did, and you’d reconsider us deserving a great rating ??

    Thank you,
    Aristotel.

I did a fresh installation via WordPress plugin directory and still don’t see any German translation. Did anything improve since my report?

    Hi netaction,

I’m sorry that you are having problems with the translation.

The default language is English, and only that language is in the plugin “language” folder. You can follow guide above, but unfortunately we have not updated or checked the translations that users submitted after a few plugin updates, so I believe that they are not entirely compatible. We are working to simplify translation plugin in future versions.
Until then, as a workaround, you can try Replace Default Words, with this plugin you can translate, or replace all the words on the calendar.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Hi netaction!

About losing the translation: When updating the plugin, WordPress replaces the whole plugin directory, that’s why you lost the German translation.

I’m changing the packaging procedure of our plugin to include all translations we have, so you shouldn’t have this problem in the next plugin release.

Meanwhile, if you have some free time to help us translate to German, we would love it! Here is the link for it: https://translate.time.ly/projects/timely/all-in-one-event-calendar/23/de/default

    Thank you!

    Hey netaction,

Calvin just changed our packaging procedure and starting with today’s 2.3.8 release, we’re including all translations in the plugin. You won’t need to downloading manually the translations and installing by yourself.
Thanks for the tip and patience!

We really want to provide you with a 5 star plugin. Is there anything else you think we need to do so that you consider we deserve it?
