    Dear ProCoders team

Thank you for a great, uncomplicated plugin.

While testing the communication between CF7 submissions and HubSpot, I used the same contact details for two form submissions, but changed the surname slightly. I then received an API error notification email with the following message:

Message: Contact already exists. Existing ID: 104529701052
    Response: {“status”:”error”,”message”:”Contact already exists. Existing ID: 104529701052″,”correlationId”:”3e070fb9-4897-49d4-a966-5ee7df332426″,”category”:”CONFLICT”}

Ideally, I would like the relevant HubSpot contact to be updated with the new details (change in surname, for example) instead of receiving an error message. Is that possible?

Also, can you propose an existing HubSpot field to map to the “your-subject” field in CF7?

Hi, try using this option; it should help.

Regarding the subject field, I think it’s better to create a custom field on HubSpot side.

    Dear ProCoders Team

Thank you for your reply that I received via the email notification, but was there supposed to be a link attached to “… try using this option;…”?

Sorry, it seems the previous post went to moderation.

No problem! The “Create/Update Module Record” was ticked as well as the “Turn on integration on form” checkbox.

I found the following post on HubSpot’s community forum that explains how contacts are added/updated in HubSpot via external forms:
    https://community.hubspot.com/t5/CRM/External-form-overwriting-contact-properties-instead-of-creating/m-p/334390

To check this, I did a new form submission using the same browser and same email address (but with browser cookies and history cleared), and once again got the following error log (and no update in HubSpot):
Message: Contact already exists. Existing ID: 104529701052 Response: {“status”:”error”,”message”:”Contact already exists. Existing ID: 104529701052″,”correlationId”:”227b9da3-f3eb-40ac-9820-3ddfb8f98b2d”,”category”:”CONFLICT”} Date: 2024-11-20 13:15:19

Is the above error status generated by HubSpot or by the plugin?

This is a response from HubSpot api.
Try to update the plugin to version 1.1.8 and check if the issue still persists.

Thank you, the update solved the issue. The details for the existing test contact in HubSpot have now been updated with my latest test form submission.
