Get canonical url to use somewhere else

Hi

To add some social buttons to my site I’d like to use the canonical url that your SEO pluggin creates in the head. Because this is always the right url, while get_permalink() only gives the correct url for single pages, not for category or taxonomy pages.

Is there anyway I can call your canonical function to get the canonical url??
