get data from stat field

I have set up a stat called report, in which there is a field called URL. What I need to do is for each row in the matches table, if the url field is filled out then display “view” which would then be wrapped in a url where the href would pull the data from the URL stat field. I have to implement it by using the method shown by klangrug here https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-leaguemanager-how-can-i-add-stats-field-to-matches-tables?replies=3 but have not been able to pull the data through.
