    Hello,

I am starting on a website for the Kansas City Central Office and found this plugin very helpful and user friendly. However, When inside an individual meeting and clicking on the “Get Directions” button, it doesn’t seem to work.

I noticed that the link for the button goes to maps.apple.com. Can this be updated to use Google maps instead? Currently it just redirects to google maps and where it displays my location. It doesn’t create any directions.

    Thank you

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey I will definitely look at this in depth this weekend and test it out on a number of devices. It’s a very important feature.

It goes to apple.com because we want this link to do all these things, in this order of importance:

    1) on iPhones, go to Apple Maps app
    2) on Android phones, go to Google Maps app
    3) on PCs, go to Google Maps on the web
    4) on Macs, go to Apple Maps app

This came up recently and I debugged it for a particular use-case, where I think the pin wasn’t going to the right place, anyway I will look at it again soon and let you know.

“Importance” is perhaps the wrong word; all users are important. It’s just that there are more iPhone users than PC users on most AA websites, which is why there is a set of priorities.

Haha, I understood what you meant. However, since Google Maps can be accessed via a web browser on any device, I would think that would make it the most important option. So unless you detect the users device and can have the plugin choose which service to use, my opinion would be to use the service that can be accessed on any device with an internet connection.

But other than that, this plugin is great!

Yes, I agree that Google Maps is the best solution for most devices. I just added 2.17.10 which uses Google Maps in every scenario except iOS, where it uses Apple Maps.

More to your original request though, this new update should trigger directions mode in whatever service immediately.

Updated and tested, works great! You’ve definitely provided the best support for a free plugin I’ve ever seen.

    Thank you so much!
