• I was using this plugin and the latest update v2.3 broke sending. I am using the Postal SMTP server, my own hosted site, and now I get SMTP 530 errors with “From/Sender name is not valid”. It looks like the FROM: email is set to “<[email protected]>” without having a name specified, thus the SMTP server says it’s invalid. I dumped this plugin and switched to Easy WP SMTP and it works fine.

    Test emails fail in the same way.

    @bsabalaskey Hi,

    I hope you are doing well.

    We are looking into it, can you please activate the plugin again and provide us the Diagnostic test report of Post SMTP? so I can diagnose this issue and fix it asap?

    Sorry for the inconvinence.

    Thanks

    I am running a live server and cannot afford to break it again plus spend the time debugging. You will need to setup your own environment to test. And I have a working setup again with another plugin.

    @bsabalaskey Thanks for your response, yes, we are already reproducing this on our staging websites, and we will update it soon.

    Thanks

    @haseeb0001 same problem here. I am really getting reluctant to use post smtp, because it feels like there is a new bug all the time. But I love it, it’s a great plugin….

    We have released the fixed version; please update the plugin to 2.3.1, test it, and let me know.

    Thanks

    @haseeb0001 not working. Still the reply to is the sender address and not what was expected. Rolled back to 2.2.3 :-/

    That updates break the fundamental functionality of this plugin indicate poor quality control and/or code. I will not be using this plugin.
