You can find additional themes for your site in the WordPress theme directory. To install a theme you generally just need to upload the theme folder into your wp-content/themes directory. Once a theme is uploaded, you should see it on this page.

    That is standing by ‘presentation’.

Well I did all, uploaded 6 themes, but I see nothing.

“you generally just need to upload the theme folder into your wp-content/themes directory.”

    Did you “unzip” them first?

Yes I unzipped them. They looks the same as the standard themes

What version of WordPress are you using, and is it possible to give us a link to your blog? If we can take a look at your theme directory (if your server config will allow it) maybe we can tell you more.

    I downloaded 2.7.1

I went to take a look at your themes directory, but your server configuration prevents me from seeing the directory structure to verify that the themes are actually there. Sometimes when you unzip a theme, you can still have a theme folder within another theme folder. That can cause problems as well. The appearance section referred to is located in the Dashboard. If you expand the “Appearance” settings on the left side panel, you will see the “Themes” selection. (It sounds like you have already been there with no problem though, because you mentioned seeing the two default themes.) Click on themes, and you should be able to see any themes that were correctly uploaded, providing the file and folder ownership and permissions are all ok. Use your ftp client to make sure the file ownership and permissions for the themes you uploaded are correct, and just re-verify that the themes are not in “nested” folders, and actually made it to the theme directory intact. Beyond that, I think I am stumped.

    Good luck to you.

I have the same problem- nothing in appearance under themes. Believe me, I would be thrilled to be that far along!

Whoaaaa. You’re using version 2.3. You need to upgrade. Also, I’d be willing to bet you either upload them to the wrong place or you have them nested IE — there’s a folder within a folder as ClaytonJames said.

    @lovedrea

Nothing? Not even the default and classic themes?

    2.3?!…
I bought my site 11 march, the date that I downloaded wp…
On my computer the map is named 2.7.1 ….. stupid grrrrrrrrrr

    I’m gonna try!

    2.3?!

If you look at your source code at the top, you can see what version WP you’re using ??

    Thread Starter shopperella

    (@shopperella)

yes I see that. But like I said… I downloaded the 2.7.1 …. That’s the only one on my pc, so how is it possible that wp give me 2.3 and I can’t upgrade?!

    pffff ??
