I have installed Responsive Menu on a Genesis starter theme I modified from Calvin Koepke’s Starter Theme. The menu on my mod remains the same as this one:

    https://demo.calvinkoepke.com/starter/

I carefully followed the initial setup instructions, and the plugin seems to have no effect. None of the settings I chose affect the appearance or behavior of the menu at desktop nor below the breakpoint width.

When I click the ‘Preview Changes’ button on the right hand side of the plugin interface in WordPress – a tab comes up at the url `https://localhost/?responsive-menu-preview=true’ with the 404 error “Object not found! The requested URL was not found on this server.”

A previous plugin worked great on another Genesis project, so I’m looking forward to having the chance to use your plugin on my starter theme based projects going forward.

    Ideas? Thanks!

This is for the free version. Sorry I did not specify

    Hi there,

Sorry I was confused as you mentioned the preview option but that is a Pro only feature.

Is the plugin working at all or is it just some settings that aren’t and if so which ones?

This is definitely the free version. I never purchased

on Dashboard > Responsive Menu > Initial Setup screen – righthand side of the screen above the red ‘Upgrade today to unlock the following features’ widget – the widget title is ‘Preview’ with a red ‘Upgrade now’ link directly below, and the ‘Preview Changes’ button is directly right of that.

I am working on a localhost copy and also using the browser to view and troubleshoot. I have tried the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox. Nothing visible that I have found to show me that the plugin is having any affect in this starter child theme.

However – I have another site installed here where the plugin is functioning fine (different child theme). I just upgraded that site to the latest version of Responsive Menu and it still works. The aforementioned Preview button does not work on this one either, so looks like the 404 error is unrelated to the fact that the plugin is not working on the starter theme.

    Hi there,

That’s fine – the fact it says “Upgrade today” means its the free version.

In either case, can you explain what settings are not working exactly?

Unfortunately if there is no way of seeing it online I can’t really provide any advice as it could be any number of reasons.

Is there no way for me to be able to see it in action?

    All the best
