get post thumbnail function to respond choice of image size

  • Is there a way to make the get post thumbnail function in the latest wordpress releases to respond to the choice of image size when choosing thumbnail image in the post editor screen so that you can have thumbnail, medium and large thumbnail sizes on the frontpage for individual posts.
