GET variable from URL and auto-fill input field

Hy,
I want to make a referent code to be filled out from URL variable.
URL will be like https://www.webpage.com/account/?ref=001 and I have a number field in my form that should be filled out at page load with this variable 001.
Is there a solution for this?
