get_posts() causing re-load of posts after post?

  • Whenever I go to a page with multiple posts on the site it seems to load the posts and then re-load them again (they flash gone and then re-appear), see home page for an example: https://thepostrider.com/

    I am getting an alert I have a duplicate query for “load_posts()” running on the home page and other pages too which makes me think it could be that. Any ideas on how to stop this?

    Apologies for the delay! Are you still experiencing this? Have you tried deactivating your plugins to test if any are conflicting? I suggest starting there. Let me know if there’s no change.

    Hi @hannahritner — yeah it looks like this is still going on, no help with the plugin deactivation. If you load the front page you can see it happen.

    Do you have lazy load turned on? If so, try turning that off. Let me know if that’s not the issue.

    I do but turning that off does not resolve the issue either. Is it that there are two “load_posts()” queries running?

    Sorry for the delay! I’m not able to replicate this on my test site. Are you using a caching plugin? Did you clear your cache after turning off lazy load? And also after deactivating your plugins?

    No worries — over the last couple months I have tried all of those things (and before). I downloaded an entirely new browser too and still the same issue.

    Hey @larsemerson,
    I suggest reaching out to your host to see if they have any insight. It may also be worth temporarily activating another theme to determine if the issue is only with Ascend. Let me know what you find out!
