Gettext function broken under WP 4.3.2

I just updated to WP 4.3.2 – and I’m already beginning to regret it, since it’s gotten me into no ends of trouble.
As always, plugin compatibility is a big issue. Just imagine any other piece of software, where minor point updates seem to be done for no other reason than to introduce incompatibilities over incompatibilities… Among the 42,403 plugins in the WordPress repository my guess is that about 30,000 are rendered useless, and it is WordPress that makes them so. WordPress offers not a plugin ecosystem but a developers’ death zone. WordPress is brakeware!
Anyway – I just wanted to let the developer of this fabulous plugin know that I was a happy user until today, when all of a sudden the gettext test failed, although nothing has changed on my server but WordPress. An update to WPPP that fixes WordPress would be thoroughly appreciated!
