Getting 404 logs with Simple Captcha

  • First off, the Contact form 7 along with Really Simple Captcha do not actually produce a 404 page for a user. Instead, these are showing up in my 404 log files and I am getting several per day. So, if anyone lands on a page where I have the CF7 and Really simple Captcha, there is a really good chance that this will produce a 404 log as follows:

    mywebsite/wp-content/uploads/wpcf7_captcha/XXXXXXXXXX.png

    I first thought it might be an issue with my 404 plugin, but these 404’s errors are also showing up in my Wordfence reports too.

    At the moment, it seems harmless since everything works accordingly. However, these logs are annoying (and I am not sure if they will eventually hurt my website SEO)…..but I am concerned that it could eventually lead to something worse off.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
