getting a category and displaying it

  • Can someone please post a simple script that I can insert in my webpage that will
    1. Call up all the entries from a category
    2. DISPLAY those posts
    I can find plenty of PHP scripts that seem to do what I want it to, but displaying that information is the step I am missing.

    That is good information.
    Let me try to be more clear.
    I have an exisiting page (not wordpress) that I would like to display two categories on. Let’s call them News and Shows.
    It seems to me that there has to be a way to call up those categories (I think I’ve found some scripts here) and display the info the PHP finds.
    THe scripts call for the information, but I am unsure how to tell it “what to do with it”. Like display it.
    I hope that makes more sense.
