Getting a piece of Javascript running

Good day,

I’m trying to get something working. I’ve been trying to get the script from this page https://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/mikescroll.htm to work within wordpress.

I can get wordpress to display the code properly within the web page but it just doesn’t work.

Anyone have any ideas?
