Getting an error when installing and deleting plugins

  • Im trying to update my wordpress version to see if that gets rid of this error that is at the top of the page

    Notice: get_settings is deprecated since version 2.1! Use get_option() instead. in D:\Websites\www.ooida.com\blogI\wp-includes\functions.php on line 3237

    …but every time i try to delete a plugin or when i tried to install the WP-database backup plugin it gives me this error all down the page

    Notice: Undefined variable: b in D:\Websites\www.ooida.com\blogI\wp-admin\includes\class-wp-filesystem-ftpext.php on line 329

    Please help

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    Yes i have tried that, but it gives me an error when i try to deactivate a plugin too

    rename the /plugins folder
    this will deactivate all of them
    rename it back to test

    all my plugins are deactivated and it still gives me an error at the top…also when i try to delete the plugins it gives me this error all the way down the page

    It then redirects me back the the plugin page where the plugin that i just tried to delete is still there
