Getting auto follow on new user registration

    For some reason every time a new user signs up, they are now getting ‘site admin is now following you’ email immediately after registration activation. Also, the admin gets a return ‘new user is following you’ message at the same time.

    I can’t see how these automated emails are being generated. Is there a setting to allow automated following somewhere? I want to shut this off but see no source of this trigger.

    Thoughts?

    You have a script or plugin that is auto-following the admin after activation.

    Look through your plugins or code snippets to find out where that is.

    I’m having the same issue. Whenever a new user activates his account it automatically gets followed by 12 users and also follows the same 12 users. What is going wrong? I think there is a bug in the plugin.

    Yes. That is the problem. They just put out a new release this week that fixed the problem as far as I can see. There was also an issue with auto-friending at activation that they found, but it appears it also effected Follow. So I have not seen this problem since their update. Thanks
