getting blogs to appear as summary

  • I just started with word press and am exited about getting published. I’ve posted a few blogs, placed them in designated categories. I want them to show on my home page as summarized, (as they do in the categories page),
    I clicked on the reading tab and selected “for each article in a feed show- summary” but I’m still getting the whole story on my home page. What’s the trick?

  • Try editing your theme’s index.php template file and replacing <?php the_content();?> with <?php the_excerpt();?>. The setting you’ve changed refers to your RSS feeds – not your page content.
