Getting constant Spam Registrations after upgrade

    Hi,

    After we updated to Version 2.0.54 last week, there is steady and constant spam registrations to the website. We are deleting them as we have registrations set on admin approval but it is a nuisance at the moment.

    – We have Anyone can register checkbox unchecked
    – Registration and Login Forms have Google Recaptcha, can see them as well

    Please check if there is an security issue like it happen before.

    Hi @rdsouza

    There is no way to 100% block the spam registration. But here is some of the proven strategies you can use to combat them.

    1. Disable “Membership – Anyone can register” option.
    2. Change Register page link from default “register” to some other.
    3. If nothing helps, set default role “Registration Status” to “Require Email Activation”. In this case new user should approve his email before he would be able to use his account.
