Getting error email when sending new user registration email

I have successfully set up Post SMTP with Sendgrid and it’s working fine for delivering standard emails through form submissions etc.
However I get an email error when i register a new wordpress user. the registration email does get delivered though.
My wordpress super admin email address is different to the email address I have set up with SMTP but I have set up the fallback email address as the same as the super admin email
