I have my client’s site working on my staging server at https://limakokua.webstagingarea.com/ using the Staff Directory plugin.

I have cloned it to the live hosting site on GoDaddy, but when trying to log in, I get this error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or ‘$’ in mydomain…/wp-content/plugins/staff-directory/classes/staff_settings.php on line 8

    GoDaddy is using SQL 5.5.

Any ideas why it’s working on my staging server, which is on Hostgator, but not working on GoDaddy? Or is it not related to the host at all?

    Thanks!

    Brain blip… I meant PHP version 5.5.

But when I checked the PHP version in GoDaddy, it only said 5. I selected 5.5 when I created the database, but apparently it ignored me and installed plain old 5. I updated PHP to 5.4 and it all magically started working.

    Sorry to bother you…
