getting error trying to upload image

  • please help…
    after 70 days of ok performance i’m suddenly getting the following message when i try to upload saved images to posts :

    Unable to create directory /nfs/c03/h01/mnt/47986/domains/www.housingcrisis.com/html/wp-content/uploads/2008/12. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    can you help me understand why this is occurring and what to do about it?

    P.S. i’m dumb with code … thanks for patience.
