getting error when adding new and cannot delete

when attempting to create a new FAQ we are getting the following error “You are not allowed to edit this post” Also, when looking at the list of current FAQ’s in the admin there is no edit or delete links when hovering over the title. Purge from cache, clone and new draft are the only options. I have tried deactivating, copying the plugin again via ftp and reactivating and I get the same behavior. Could our license be expired? How do we know as the developers that set this up are no longer working at the company.
