    Hello,

I have been getting my website secure with Wordfence and saw that it was subject to an attack. Just deleted the changes in core files and fixed the issue. Then Wordfence warned me about getting WordPress updated to 5.0.3. I just figured why not. But then my website got unreachable immediately. I currently don’t have access to wp-admin also. My website gives HTTP ERROR 500 when you call my url.

I tried to SSH to my website and tried the .htaccess, wp_config, defaulting wp-admin & wp-include methods. None of them worked.

Looking for help here in order not to get my months of efforts wasted. All my content, uploads, pages and themes stay there, but I am not able to tackle this error.

Thanks in advance for your help…

  • Hi @ardaulusoy

Try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.
Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

    Thanks
