getting out of memory error when going into customize menu

  • Hi, am getting an out of memory error whenever I go into the customize menu, specifically in the background subsection.
    the exact error I am seeing is

    Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 38797312) (tried to allocate 1282048 bytes) in /homepages/29/d101316425/htdocs/clickandbuilds/AlbionUnitedReformedChurch/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3459

    I have looked at the functions.php but it doesn’t even appear to have 3459 lines of code. I’d say 300 at most.

  • Me too.
    Site stays up but various back-office functions not workinh e.g. Customise Theme, Layout, Header Image etc.
    I’ve tried switching Themes but to no avail.
    I’ve even re-uploaded WordPress but the problem persists.
    (My Hosting plan was recently upgraded for more memory so I hardly think the issue lies with my Service Provider)
