getting payments working (help please)

  • I am trying to get the payment side of things up and running. so far all I want to do is get the paypal payment gateway open.

    this is my first time trying to get payments working so I have very little knowledge of how wordpress works and how websites work in general.

    i have my personal paypal account (not a business account) and copied and pasted my login (to paypal) email into the payment gateway section, update try to purchase an item on the website push pay, then this error comes up:
    The link you have used to enter the PayPal system contains an incorrectly formatted item amount..

    can anyone help with this as if this can not be rectified then I dont want to waste my time filling the website with products etc.
