Getting redirected when saving or publishing: Version 2.8.5

  • Hello.
    I cant seem to save my posts or publish them directly. When I click on the Save or Publish button the page takes me to /wp-admin/edit.php

    The same things happends when I try and update an old post. The edit in the text is not saved though.

    Auto saving on the other hand works fine.
    I’m also able to post new posts via “QickPress” with out any problem.

    This happend to me yesterday when I was still running 2.8.4 so I thought that I just needed to upgrade WP to the new version. But it didnt help.

    All plugins are updated and I havent made any changes to the theme, nor have I been upgrading any plugins for the last 2 weeks or so. The error just came up with out any reason at all it seems.

    I had this blog of mine running for 5 years now and never expirienced anything like this. Any ideas?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
