getting rid of overall comments

Hello I am using a new theme called sharpfolio2 and im having trouble getting rid of the comments. i erased the code from single.php and nothing happened the no comments link is still there. This is my site https://www.flemingsdesigns.net and this is my single.php code `<?php get_header(); ?>
