Getting Simple Calendar Set Up

Newbie WordPress user here.

I’m working on getting a Google Calendar up on my website and I’m having issues getting it to appear at all.

When I look at the page as admin, I’m given the following text:

While trying to retrieve events, Google returned an error:

Please ensure that both your Google Calendar ID and API Key are valid and that the Google Calendar you want to display is public.

I’ve double-checked my Google Calendar ID and API key and everything seems to be in order. “Always enqueue” is checked and the calendar has been made public.

I’ve troubleshooted to see if it was a problem with the theme or with any of my other plugins, but that also doesn’t seem to be the case.
