Getting slider on Static Front Page

    Switch semi-developed site to this template. Love it!!!
    How do I get the slider to show on the default home page?
    I can’t even find what page is the default home page. I’m trying to make it the same order as https://wpsimplyread.com/

    Header with menu
    slider
    Latest

    I think I found the problem but do not know how to fix it.
    All posts that I make or edit are marked as “archived”. Event if I click the publish button…still marked as “archived”.

    I don’t even have “published” as an option on the status pull down menu.

    I’m running WordPress 4.1.

    Well…I figured it out. It was a Plugin called Occasion Version 2.3.2 | By Make Do.

    Now everything is working fine.
