getting startef

  • hi. noob here, never useen wp or rvent down loaded yet and still to register a domain. yes I’ve read the faq about getting started etc but just wanted some user input from your experience on potential pitfalls, what to be mind full of re SEO, and any other advice, tips etc. will be just a simple folio type website with no ecommerce. from any aussie… best hosting.

    First thing I want to do is download wp to desktop to play and learn etc b4 going onto anything live.

    Use a theme that is labelled as ‘accessible’ and find it on the www.ads-software.com repository. That will give you the best start for ‘SEO’ and future support. We don’t support themes distributed elsewhere and the Codex articles are included in that.

    thankyou for replying… not really stuck on anything yet as I’ve done nothing other than research wp as my best option for getting SEO site up and running myself.

    thought it best to ask experts on advice etc b4 I even started to avoid making any common or noob mistakes.

    all I really know is you use themes and then personalise them. I’m not up on codex what ever that is lol. i know there r free themes and ones you can buy. I will s3 arch for your recommendation. im a marketer not a tech so I know what I want to achieve… this will b learning how to do it ??

    That makes sense.

    Once the theme is set up, I would recommend browsing the www.ads-software.com plugin repository for an ‘seo’ plugin.
