Getting subtotal to show on edit order page

I am interested in this as well. Why is it of use? In my case, it would be helpful for filling out customs forms, where I need to put the pre-shipment value of the package.

It is easy to figure with basic subtraction, but I think it should be easy to add to the calculate totals logic that already exists. In fact, subtotal already shows in checkout and invoices.
