Getting to Photon images or directories for a restore
-
Here is my problem.
I bought a site (URL) last week and downloaded the content using various tools including the WP XML. The URL for the site I bought is simply going to be redirected to my existing URL.The WP hosting for the purchased URL ran out two days ago…..which effectively means I cannot let WP download attachments and then reupload them to my site so the articles are complete. I now have 100 articles without the proper images – and I don’t have the images anywhere in my backups (just references to them).
I am sure that the wp/photon directories/images for the old site still exist….I just can’t get to them (probably because my site is under a different URL – but I can’t get to them directly either).Example: article from OLD (purchased) site dronecoalition.net (now under my URL)…
https://www.droneflyers.com/p-squared-quadcharger-pro/
One example image address for that article
https://i0.wp.com/dronecoalition.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/QCP-Matrice-I1.jpg?zoom=2.200000047683716&resize=697%2C36Of course, it doesn’t retrieve the image.
Basically, I am at a dead end although I know the proper images are on the wp/photon servers. I have full rights (the domain name, the content), but there is no copy of these files on the regular downloaded filesystems and backups I made before the old site shut down.
So – why couldn’t it be easy for WP – like google and facebook and others, to let me get to a file containing all these images so I can backup and rebuild?
Any ideas welcome.
