Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

I was able to reproduce the issue and I will make sure we will fix this immediately. We will keep you updated as soon as we no more about the root cause.

Thanks, it is also good to note that now and then some parts of my content simply vanishes from the page, even being published correctly at the plugin. This is REALLY bad for my audience. Like really, really bad, it’s actually sad to see this and it disappoints me, because I put a lot of work on each web story, just so that some key parts of the content can disappear, literally…

Are you referring to content other than GIFs? Does it happen right after publishing or after a certain time?

If you perhaps have an example story with some missing elements that we could take a look at, that would be very helpful.

Unfortunately no, because I corrected them (by recreating the slide with error). And yes, it happens with text, rectangles and other forms. It happens after a time, can this be a problem with the host or something else, rather than the plugin?

That could be, yes. The plugin does not simply change your content without someone/something editing. But it’s difficult to say without more details.

Do the elements also disappear in the editor or only on the frontend when viewing the story?

By the way, we have resolved the issue with the GIFs, it will be fixed in the next release.

A workaround for you could be to add a video to your story somewhere in the meantime. That should make the GIFs re-appear too.

They disappear only on the frontend when viewing the story.

That is great to hear, thanks for the fast resolving as always, Pascal!

That is good to know, thanks!

If you’d like, you could share your site health information privately with us via this form so we could try to see whether we spot any potential conflicts with other plugins that could cause the elements to disappear.

We’ve recently released a new version of the Web Stories for WordPress plugin. This includes the fix for the GIF issue you reported. Please update to version 1.10.0 and confirm the issue has been resolved on your end. We’ll mark this topic here as resolved. If you continue to experience issues with your elements disappearing please open a new support topic and share the relevant details (e.g. story URL affected or Site Health information). Thank you again @knowstuff for opening your topic!
