[ GIMP from Source | GIMP for Unix | GIMP for Windows

  • I was about to download the GIMP software (thanks to all here who give me a pointer in this software’s direction last week). My log will be at dreamhost and I think they use the Unix. I am not sure which version of GIMP to download. My computer uses the XP operating system. So The Unix vs. window is where i am confused. does it apply to my PC or my blog? And what is [GIMP from Source]? Can someone just provide me the link to download the GIMP software that I need?

  • You need GIMP for Windows. It’s going to run on your computer.

    The “source” is for people who want to contribute to the development of the GIMP. If you’re not sure, you don’t need it.

    Get the “GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment (version 2.8.18, for Windows 2000 and newer)” first

    Then get “The GIMP for Windows (version 2.2.11)”
