I have followed the instructions and created a FB app key etc but I get this error message when I try to test/renew the token:
“Given URL is not permitted by the application configuration.: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App’s settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App’s domains.”
I have the same website nominated (www.shavana.com.au) and don’t really understand what the error message is pointing at.

  • I have the same problem, and it looks like I am following the instructions exactly. I would appreciate some help!

    My wordpress website is https://www.sustainablesurf.org
So the App Domain setting on the FB App should be “sustainablesurf.org”?

This is what I have done, but I get the error above.

Let me know what to do. Thank you

I have got mine to work by adding both domain names in the app domains field without the www prefix. My website was originally setup with say, aaa.com.au. Subsequently we parked domain bbb.com.au on this website and this is the website we are referencing. Easier to park the domain than change the whole website setup with the hosting service.

I have a FB page for bbb and set the FB app to point to https://www.bbb.com.au in the site url. However it wouldn’t work with just bbb.com.au in the app domain field but when I added aaa.com.au to this field (i.e. it now reads bbb.com.au aaa.com.au) it worked.

Not sure if your situation is similar but it may help.

I got mine to work as well. Even though I was putting in the site URL without the www prefix, somehow FB wasn’t saving the value. Eventually it got saved, and now it works.

    Nice app…

You have to make sure that your app is not in Sandbox mode as well. I got the same error and that was the solution for me.

    Hi everyone,

I’ve updated the installation instructions to make configuring the plugin more clear. Filling in the app domains field is optional but always a good idea, especially if your site uses multiple subdomains or works on both the www- as the non-www version.
