    Hi WP Users & Devs,
On our WooCommerce powered site, we’ve installed wpMandill and we’re send Transactional as well as promotional emails.

Transactional email are sent whenever order status changes. Example: an email invoice is sent when a new order is placed.

Promotional emails (eg: We send discount coupons to customers who abandon their carts and cancel order etc.) are sent using Automated follow-up emails plugin.

Since Mandrill shouldn’t be used to send promotional emails. We are looking for a way to give an exception to certain emails within wpMandrill.

Please guide how this can be done. Suggestions for alternate ways are welcomed.

I received reply to an email ticket with Mandrill. This is what they have to say:

While Mandrill is primarily designed for transactional emails, you can actually send any legal, non-spam message through Mandrill, including promotional or bulk email. So while some services require that you only send transactional emails, we don’t limit you in that way.

If you’d like to filter and not send some emails through Mandrill with the wpMandrill plugin, you’ll likely need to add a custom filter. The wpMandrill WordPress forum would be the best place to get assistance, though, as the wpMandrill developer monitors that to provide assistance.
