• The problem: After installation step 1, WP tells me that all went well and that I can login as “admin” with some random password. But the Login screen takes me nowhere but to the same login screen after a few seconds.

I was able to see the site up and running, and I was able to click “Edit” (on the sample “Hello World” post). From there I was able to visit all menus with the exception of the “Dashboard” menu which always returned me to whatever page I was looking at before.

But once I log out from the site, I am unable to login again. I simply get the login page again and again.

After trying several times a fresh install of 2.0.1 (my e-mail inbox has eight “admin” passwords so far), including re-building the database from scratch, on my Ubuntu box, I have to call it a quit for 2.0.1. Other threads have reported similar problems during installation, but I haven’t seen any solution so far.

So, solong for the moment. I might reconsider WP later on when the problem is fixed. I’m going the Textpattern way for the time being which installed without a single problem.

    Good luck,

    Patis
