Global Content Blocks?

I can’t find anything on this and I am thinking it is because my terminology isn’t right for WordPress.

I have several sections on my homepage that are used throughout the site on various pages. a reviews slider for instance.

It would be great if there is a way for me to have all of the html and the ability to use advanced custom fields, not as a template, but instead as like a snippet or something I could call in using a shortcode or something else. Does this exist in some form in WordPress?
