Global Content Blocks Impact On Server Performance

Every content block embedded in a page or post will require an mysql call to retrieve the actual value. However, as mysql servers can handle hundreds of queries per second this will have negligible impact. The actual text processing/replacing times are minuscule, i.e., microseconds.

Ok. Thanks for the response. I have become somewhat neurotic about investigating any plugin’s impact on performance before I consider an install.

This appears to be a very cool plugin. I like too that I can use it to insert shortcodes and not have to worry about losing custom changes during a theme update.

You’re welcome Chris. It’s easy to keep adding plugins without realizing that they do have an impact but some (like this one) are just so useful that it’s worth it!. Using a caching plugin can help.
