Global image resizing for a new theme

  • As part of my site redesign, I’m moving to a new theme, and it will be wider. My previous theme was 800px wide and my images were resized to 780 px wide. Now the new theme is 1000 px wide, and I would like the images to be 970 px wide. Is there a way to globally resize all the images?

    There are about 900 images in about 50 posts – they were ALL uploaded at 1000 px wide, as the plan was always to move to a wider situation.

    Is this possible?
