Globally/locally searching

I’m trying to implement a search field where a user could click on a radio button to search either the current blog (using the multi-user hack), or all blogs. I’m not really sure which file to implement it in… do I need to change the classes file? Or a different file. Also, any help in actually coding it would be very much appreciated.
