I am using the free version of the plugin.
Even though I have the “Force Glossary terms to be included within WordPress search results” enabled, none of the searches I’ve performed include glossary terms in the results (and I have tried many varieties, including exact-match search terms for glossary item titles).

I also installed the Ivory Search plugin so that I can customize search results… I have it set up to search only the Glossary post type – anything from the title, excerpt or content. And still, nothing appears in a search relating to the glossary… I only get a “no search results” message.

I would have concluded that Ivory search compatibility was the problem, but even the standard WP search excludes the post type…

Is there any reason that the glossary post type would not be included in search results? What can I do or try?

I did just see this in the plugin description:
“Codeat’s Glossary for WordPress supports the following plugins: YARPP, Crayon Syntax Highlighter, Ninja Forms, Yoast SEO, Elementor (not pro version)”

I am using Elementor Pro… everything is working great except for the search… [why] would there be an incompatibility with the pro version?

    One more note…
Pages where the highlighted glossary terms appear (with the tooltip hint enabled) DO appear in searches for the glossary terms.
But having the individual glossary posts appear in search results is important for this site (developing locally right now, so can’t share a link).

    Hi spark_1,
we will do few tests about the search. Basically our implementation add to the list of post type the glossary one to search the term also on them.

For the other question about Elementor PRO we are nosupporting it because we don’t have a PRO license and if we start to support all the various Premium version of all the plugin we support can be a problem.
Anyway we have customers that are using the Elementor Pro version without any issue.

On my tests after enabling that option and search for a title of a glossary term I can find it.
As written in the documentation https://codeat.co/glossary/docs/force-glossary-terms-included-within-wordpress-search-results/ maybe there are conflicts with other plugins or themes.

Thank you so much for your reply…

I could not find a plugin incompatibility (not really using many).
    But, here’s what I found…
I was using Phlox theme (free version) and there was not much control for their search archive templates. I was overriding them with Elementor, but there seemed to be an issue there (still pulling in theme settings on the archive when it shouldn’t).

So, to test, I activated the 2017 WP theme and got some results… my custom [Elemntor built] archive template & alternatively testing the theme archive template… correctly pulled in Glossary term results BUT only using the search form by the Ivory Search plugin, which allowed me to target that post type.

Still, after reverting to a default WP theme, and both using (and not using) my Elementor custom archive, the default WordPress search form does not pull in Glossary post type results. And, I do have that “turned on” in the Glossary plugin settings to force them to be added to the WP results.

So, I think I have found a solution for myself… but wanted you to know in case there was anything else you could suggest – or just info that may be helpful to you as the developer.

Again, thanks so much for your response.

I don’t understand if now you got everythibng working but from what I can see there was conflictings with some combination of plugins.
