I’ve used my Gmail address in the TO line of my CF7 forms for ages, and they always worked great. Until today. I can no longer receive CF7 form submissions when using a Gmail address in the TO line of my forms. Is anyone else noticing this too? Has Google made some changes or is there an issue with CF7 or even my mail server?

  • I’m having trouble receiving emails sent from the contact form on my website, but they say sent okay. So I tried to change the to: which was my website email address to a gmail address and it gave an error and wouldn’t even send the email from the form. I’m not sure if this is the same thing as what you’re experiencing, but it sounds similar.

Yes, although I don’t see any errors when sending a form to a gmail address. It processes normally, but the email just doesn’t arrive.

    SAME

@lanahallen & @heather15 – see I have the same problem! Can I just reply to someone else’s post with “Me too”?.

If you are willing to create a new question, which details your issues, somebody will likely be able to help you there.

As CF7 has 5+ million active installs, you will usually see examples in this forum of other people having the same (or similar) problem as you most days. While it’s easy to conclude you have EXACTLY the same problem, it’s almost always not correct.

I just tried using a different email address – changed it to my personal @mac.com email address and it’s coming through. So it’s DEFINITELY a compatibility issue with Gmail.

@buzztone I get what you are saying but there’s a number of people with this same issue just today and now I check the support forum and there’s more posting after my individual post. So I definitely think this is not us and something with Contact Form is not compatible with Gmail at this time. So when I post alone I’m not taking seriously as it’s an issue on your end. But now that I see there are several users with same problem, it makes sense to comment on the same thread so the Author can look into what’s (if anything) is wrong after the update.

@heather15 – this is @pracko‘s post. It’s not appropriate to confuse the answers given to @pracko‘s question, by addressing your particular problems here.

As CF7 has 5+ million active installs, you will usually see examples in this forum of other people having the same (or similar) problem as you most days. While it’s easy to conclude CF7 is broken, this almost always not correct – the problem is likely due to common issues on your particular WP site.

@buzztone THE PROBLEM IS GMAIL HAS STOPPED WORKING

CHECK THE SUPPORT FORUM. AT LEAST 5 PEPOLE IN THE LAST 4 HOURS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE

As it turns out, the emails were being delayed, sometimes by hours, some even for days. This probably had less to do with CF7 than it did with Gmail at the time as now all seem to be functioning normally (at least for me) again.
