• Hi, I have been having issues with my Managed WordPress Sites hosted by GoDaddy. They cannot fix the issue as they cannot duplicate it.

Uploading photos and videos is very very slow, taking more than 5 minutes to upload a 9mb video.

This keeps happening. Not just the upload problem. There always seems to be something every day. I think it time to move from godaddy as there is always problems with there Managed WordPress Hosting and it not cheap.

I was just wondering if there is any one out there who is having similar issues with GoDaddy.
    Thanks

  • If you search, you’ll find a lot of similar threads, yes. But as per the forum policy, we don’t get into discussions of hosting here – as it just gets spammy very fast.

Certainly, if you aren’t happy with the hosting, find something better! There are lots of options out there so you should be able to find something that works for your needs.

    Kitlad,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Do you experience the same uploading issues from a different internet connection or is it slow everywhere for you? Do you have a open ticket number I can reference and look into further for you?

Kitlad I can tell you $50 a year unlimited hosting has a LOT of Limitations.

If your sites are important a Dedicated server is the only way!

    Just my experience.

Hi WPyogi, I can understand that.

Searched the forums but could find a very slow upload problem, nearly 12 hour now and still having problems uploading images and photos.

Hi GoDaddy, I have not tried a different internet connection, but I can upload content to other sites on the net. My broadband is very good up to 100MB
I reported it thru the chat button on support as you can be on the phone for up an hour which is expensive during the day, and found that phoning up never fixing a problems its all geared to sales.

Hi wclune,, I paying around $45.00 a month for a very poor service

How many sites and traffic, that is a LOT of money!
I know this is off topic just curious, I used Godaddy dedicated for a while which was great, the shared service was “shared” switched back to a dedicated.

    Kitlad,

What is the affected site? I’d like to have my team take another look.

    Kindly,

    Colby

Hi GoDaddy, I have a old number Incident ID: 24650662 – as It a NSFW sites
Affecting both of my NET and COM Managed WordPress Sites.

    Kitlad,

Thanks for that. We are looking into it. My Managed WP Team needs some more info from you if you are willing to supply it:

What internet package did you buy from your ISP?
    What is your IP?
    Where are you geophysically located?
What is a filename example you’re trying to upload and did it actually succeed?
Are you using SFTP or WP-admin?
Are you talking about the upload itself or the post processing? Where WP goes and looks for meta-data, becasue those look like the same process.

    Thanks!

    Colby

Also if you want to send the file example you’re trying to upload via dropbox, more than happy to take it and test it via external connection.

Hi Colby, I went out to the supermarket and for some air as I was getting so stressed out over the continued issues.

Went onto my sites when I got back and now its is working! Uploading Mp4 files and jpg Files are uploading as they should – a 9mb mp4 was taking more than 5 mins to upload, now its taking 30 secs to upload the same file size.

I am uploading via the wp-Admin.
    I am in Edinburgh Scotland
    ISP is Virgin
You can see my IP in my account, not keen posting it.

Posting items was not the problem. I could copy and paste post them publish them okay.
It was just when trying to upload images and video it was extremely slow to near impossible.

There must be something wrong with the server at GoDaddy. As this has happened before, most recent 2 days ago, with many hours unable to do everything. I am not sure what the problem is as everything is fine at my end.

Hi wclune, sorry missed message. its just 2 sites on Managed WordPress.

I was getting an average of 50,000 – 70,000 per day. Before I moved over to Managed WordPress.

I was on a site dedicated sever before but I was advised to move by GoDaddy onto the Top tier Managed WordPress plan because I was getting a lot of traffic.
But now my traffic an income has dropped dramatically since.

    Thanks Kitlad,

Glad to hear it is currently working. Thanks for the details, I have passed them over to my Managed WordPress Team for further review.

    Kindly,

    Colby
