Godaddy – Blog has a delay of 30 seconds before it loads

I am having exactly the same issue as is described in this older but closed thread by Josh Stauffer :

When I try to visit one of my sites, the status bar in my browser will say “waiting for https://www.joshstauffer.com” for about 10-20 seconds before the page even starts to load.

My blog sits there for about 25 – 30 seconds seemingly “waiting” for something before the page loads. This is affecting the admin interface as well. In some cases, the admin page is doing worse as it frequently times out or comes back with an error. The blog has been working fine but has only started doing this in the last few days.

My support request to Godaddy so far has been unproductive as all that they have sent back to me is a standard response asking me to check plugins and install caching plugins etc.

Are other Godaddy users seeing similar delays in their blog ?
