Godaddy migration

I’m migrating my site to godaddy hosting. The migration process works all the way thru the end of the import to where I have to open the new window to set permalinks. When I do that, WP wants to do an upgrade. I’ve seen this before happen and I had to change the database prefix to make it work. I tried to change the db prefix on the godaddy db and it then gave me an error when I tried to open permalinks. Not sure if I’m missing something transferring to godaddy…anyone have any reco’s? I’m wondering if godaddy doesn’t let you change the prefix for security reasons?
