Guys I am pulling my hair out with Godaddy, I have a few websites hosted with them and over the last two weeks their shared hosting is grinding to a halt!

I have raised a number of tickets and followed their advice about disabling plugins and installing W3 Total Cache all to no avail.

The last email admitted they had speed issues and thanked me for my patience but their hosting is still chronic!

My website is https://www.manxscenes.com and I would appreciate someone else s feedback on the speed issues.

I think the best bet would be to move my whole account somewhere more reliable but I fear that is a massive job!

    Thanks for any advice.

    Peter

  • @ Last Ten I must say you were lucky with go daddy. My wordpress with go daddy is moving like a snail past 3 days and is even dead at times. I get internal server error for most requests. I have deluxe linux hosting.

My website https://www.hackerslocked.com has come to a virtual stand still from past 2 days.

I have had problems before with go daddy in the past three years but it was never this bad. The support guys were reasonable and fixed the latency in few hours. Now it is another story.

First time I called in they said known issue , wait for 24 hours. Second time I called in my website seemed to be the problem to “Web hosting expert”. I did everything they said with my wordpress , same result.

Third time I called in it was a know issue with the whole grid / data center. My business can not and will not survive this for too long.

I am now looking for options with other web hosts , any recommendations ? Also let me know what I need to be careful about …some providers are offering free managed transfer but I am still curious if its that simple.

Although we cannot endorse them, there are some hosts listed here. Also searching the forums using the keywords “host” or “hosting” may provide you with some suggestions.

SAME thing happening here, sam_hl. They told me it was a known issue, and I’m doing the 24 hr dance myself. I’m waiting one more week and taking my multi site elsewhere.

@ mooncreative , I have just the same plan as you. I will give go daddy few more days !

I spoke to blue host and Host gator guys everyone is offering free transfers. At this stage it sounds like its as simple as pointing our godaddy name server to another name sever from godaddy control panel . The rest is taken care of by your new host. They will even allow us to test our site on their servers for free.

I just hope Go Daddy support comes back alive from the ashes and fixes this problem for good. I have been happy with them fir 3 years it will be a bit painful to dump them.
